The UNO cross country team has competed three times in 2012 and senior Amanda Vorthmann has been the top Mav finisher each time.
Amanda Vorthmann continued a strong senior season, finishing as UNO’s top runner and the Mavs took home fourth place at the 27th annual Rocky Mountain Shootout at Colorado. The cross country team has competed three times this year and Vorthmann has been UNO’s top runner all three times.
As a team, the Mavs finished with 93 points. Colorado, running at its home course, won with 19 points.
Vorthmann came in 13th overall with a time of 22:03. Her time was almost two minutes faster than her mark in the same event last year.
Sophomore Katarina Zarudnaya finished as UNO’s second-best runner, coming in at a time of 23:27, 31st overall. Senior Nicole Behm was just two seconds behind Zarudnaya.
Behm’s time was more than 2:30 off her finish from last season. Sophomore MiKayla Peck came in at 23:31, good enough for 34th, and Ashley Kildow was 46th with a time of 23:58.
