    Three students participated as contestants in local pageants for Miss Nebraska during the 2011-2012 academic year, with the Alliance local held this past weekend wrapping up this year's preliminaries for the state competition title for June 7, 8 and 9.

The Nebraska Robotics Expo is a collaboration between the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and others.

    Neb. and Iowa growth rates are reportedly at the lowest in years, according to several reports conducted by David Drozd, research coordinator for UNO Center for Public Affairs. According to a CBS report regarding the study, Nebraska's growth rate fell below the national average after exceeding the growing trend in past years. The  drop comes from data reporting  amount of births, deaths and number of migrations around these states.

Milliken heads UNO bass fishing club

Ben Milliken started a bass fishing club at UNO because he enjoys fishing and the competition it provides. When he is fishing, Milliken said, he thinks about where the fish will be, how to line up the next cast and whether to stay or go to a different location on the water.

Age is no barrier to success. Perform in a band, write field guides, attend college and perform an on-air comedy show are just a few items on Ben Tompkins’ list of daily activities; items most people would only find on their bucket list. Tompkins seems to be a real-life Energizer bunny.
