They took part in the Deathly Hollows midnight release Friday at the Borders on 72nd and Dodge streets. After much speculation, the fate of "the boy who lived" was finally revealed to millions of fans, many of whom began reading the series when Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, was released in 1997.

After 18 months, one Tri-wizard tournament and the return of "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named," the cast of the Harry Potter films is back for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. While this fifth installment is the darkest yet, the film is a welcome bright spot after the disappointing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

John Baltaro displays, just after midnight on July 21, the first purchased copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows at the Borders on 72nd and Dodge Streets. Midnight releases like the ones at Borders occurred nation-wide. Even though reviews of the book were published before its official release and spoilers had leaked on to the Internet, fans came out in record numbers to purchase the last book in the series, which has spanned over 10 years.
